Case file 004. Investigator: Mouse. Suspects: everyone. Motive: cake.
At precisely nine-ish this morning, Bear announced that his imaginary celebration cake had disappeared.
Mouse: “Was there actually a cake?”
Bear: “There was going to be.”
Mouse: “So nothing has been stolen?”
Bear: “Someone stole the POSSIBILITY of cake.”
Bunny volunteered to help with the investigation, provided she could wear her detective bow and be referred to as Inspector Flopsy of the Special Biscuit Unit.
We interviewed management first.
Manda: “I've been drawing.”
Bear: “A CAKE?”
Manda: “No.”
Bear: “Then I rest my case.”
Grouchy was questioned next. His Royal Fluffiness refused to comment unless snacks were provided. This did not improve his position as a suspect.
Eventually I found the missing evidence: Bear's original request form, underneath a pile of colourful paper. It read: “New pose idea: Bear holding a cake.”
Bunny: “So the cake only existed on paper?”
Bear: “All great cakes begin with a dream.”
I have filed a complaint against the entire department.
A less mysterious suggestion
If you're looking for actual cardmaking inspiration, our guides are considerably more organised than this investigation.
Case status: Unsolved. Bear still hungry. Detective bow confiscated.
Signed, Mouse — Chief Investigator of Imaginary Pastry Crimes.
